Description:
Trip-tore-lin, a decapeptide (pGlu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-D-Trp-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly-NH2), is a g-onadotropin-releasing horm-one agonist (GnRH agonist) used as the acetate or pamoate salts. By causing constant stimulation of the pituitary, it decreases pituitary secretion of g-onadotropins luteinizing h-ormone (LH) and follicle stimulating h-ormone (FSH). Like other GnRH agonists, Trip-tore-lin may be used in the treatment of hor-mone-responsive cancers such as prostate cancer or breast cancer, precocious puberty, estrogen-dependent conditions (such as endometriosis or uterine fibroids), and in assisted reproduction. Trip-tore-lin is marketed under the brand names Decapeptyl (Ipsen) and Diphere-line and Gonapeptyl (Ferring Pharmaceuticals). In the United States, it is sold by Watson as Trelstar.In Iran Trip-tore-lin is marketed under the brand name Variopeptyl.

Function
Trip-tore-lin may be used in the treatment of hor-mone-responsive cancers such as prostate cancer or breast cancer, precocious puberty, estrogen-dependent conditions (such as endometriosis or uterine fibroids), and in assisted reproduction. It is also used as therapy for gender identity disorder.

Trip-tore-lin Usage:

Trip-tore-lin is usually given as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or cl-inic. If you will be

using Trip-tore-lin at home, a health care provider will teach you how to use it. Be sure you understand

how to use Trip-tore-lin. Follow the procedures you are taught when you use a dose. Contact your

health care provider if you have any questions.
Trip-tore-lin is injected into the muscle.
Rotate the injection site. Do not inject into an area of skin that is red, hard, or bruised, or has scars

r stretch marks.
Do not use Trip-tore-lin if it contains particles, is cloudy or discolored, or if the vial is cracked or damaged.
Keep this product, as well as syringes and needles, out of the reach of children and away from pets.

Do not reuse needles, syringes, or other materials. Ask your health care provider how to dispose of

these materials after use.
